K Road Power Holdings LLC and SunPower Corp. have entered into an agreement under which K Road has acquired the 25 MW McHenry solar project.

SunPower designed the project and is currently constructing it in Modesto, Calif. SunPower will provide operations and maintenance services when the installation begins commercial operation in September.

The McHenry project's output will be sold to the Modesto Irrigation District under a 25-year power purchase agreement. K Road arranged non-recourse construction and term project financing with a syndicate of three institutions.
