American Indian Tribe Seeking Solar Proposals For Southwest U.S.

| The economic development office of a federally recognized tribe located in the desert southwestern U.S. is seeking expressions of interest with accompanying qualifications statements from solar energy technology providers willing to co-develop a solar project with the tribe. The request for interest is for PV projects between 35 MW and 50 MW. The project would be located on up to 400 acres of flat, historically farmed land, under a 25-year lease, with no known cultural or aesthetic encumbrances or other limitations. The project site is adjacent to the transmission right-of-way and less than one mile to the point of interconnection. The sovereign nation is responsible for economic development, financial solvency and the general welfare of tribal members, within a framework of long-term sustainability. The tribe is seeking to partner with an experienced solar energy technology provider capable of completing all aspects of project development up to - and possibly including - construction and operation. The tribe anticipates development will begin in earnest in late summer, and the project will be operational within 24 to 32 months of the start of development.
